I have been away from a computer for a while. I havent responded to your texts or emails. I apologize.
here`s why. About a week ago i had a bike accident in fussen germany. i needed stitches on my leg and had every appendage bandaged up for some scrape or cut. Long story short, i returned to Madrid to recover and quite frankly to not feel alone.
I am very grateful to the german family who helped me until an ambulance came. I am grateful the doctor in Fussen and the doctor i saw later in Munich spoke enough english to communicate with.
The day of the accident i was very sad. Honestly i was scared. I am 27 and should be able to handle a situation like this but all i wanted were my parents. As i lay on my hostel bed amongst strangers i quickly realized just how far away from home i really was. Up until that point, even with the language barriers i never really felt homesick.
i cried on the phone with my mom. I was scared my trip had ended. Im stressed about the hospital bill. I am worried how long i will need to recover. Will i be able to do what i came here to do.
I have never been so happy to hear my parents voices over the phone.
Despite all that happened, i was lucky i just limped away with cuts and bruises and stitches. i could have broken bones or hit my head.
Stitches should come out this week. wounds are itching which is a good sign and i hope to be traveling again by the end of the month. sadly i dont think ill be able to bike for a while and i wont make it to some cities. I hope that i will be able to hike though.
but enough if what i cant do and more of what i can do....
which is finally post pictures

Wow,
ReplyDeletesounds like you had yourself a real ordeal, I'm happy to read you are doing better. You can imagine how concerned I was when Elda when europe trotting on her own.
I'd wondered what you had been up to since I regularly check your blog and their were no posts.
Well, all you can do now is regroup and reassess your plans now and keep trucking. That's what Lance has been doing on the Tour.
Stay Safe.
